Greetings Jo Daviess County researchers! As many of you know,
our former hostess, Dorie Leekley recently had a fire which destroyed her new home. As a result, Dorie
has given up hosting this ILGenWeb site and I have volunteered to be the new coordinator.
Over the next few weeks you will notice a lot of changes taking place here as we redesign the web site, which we hope will make it easier for you to navigate around and to conduct your research. As a starter, I wanted to draw your attention to Our File Archives. There you will find biographical sketches, obituaries, and other data bases. The archives is growing rapidly, and once we have transferred the data over to the archives that we already have, we'll be asking you to send us more! Do you have letters, historical sketches, obituaries, biographies, and family sketches to put on the site? Well, we'll find a place for them all!
Hopefully you'll find all of these changes to be for the better. Finally, if you have any suggestions
as to ways to improve the site, or if you have a "wish list" of items you would like to see here, please e-mail me. I'd love to hear from you!
